The Blue Grill + Bar, smack dab in the center of the resort, gave off this super chill vibe. Picture this – we snagged a spot on the open-air terrace, overlooking the green gardens and the kick-ass pool area. With the Caribbean sun doing its golden rise thing and a gentle breeze playing with palm leaves, it felt like we stumbled into breakfast paradise.

The menu was like a foodie’s dream come true. From fresh fruits that tasted like they were plucked straight from the tropics to decadent pastries that practically melted in our mouths, every bite was a taste of vacation perfection. And can we talk about the staff? They weren’t just serving breakfast; they were crafting a whole experience. This restaurant also catered to lunch and dinner as well.

On our second evening, we decided to experience the enchanting La Palapa by Eden Roc. Picture this: tables nestled by the beach, bathed in the soft flicker of candlelight, accompanied by the serene melody of waves in the background. The atmosphere exuded total romantic vibes, setting the stage for an unforgettable dining experience.

We also checked out the other two spots, but our absolute favorite? Hoyo 19 Restaurant at Punta Espada Golf Course. I mean, where else can you munch on Dominican rice and beans with a front-row seat to the Caribbean Sea? It’s like dinner and a show, and we savored every moment. Our last dinner there was the perfect send-off to an amazing culinary journey. Talk about ending things on a high note!

But what really melted our hearts were those personal touches. We had a love welcome note alongside, a bottle of champagne, a fruit plate, and some yummy goodies waiting for us when we got to our villa. It’s like they had this magic way of turning a regular stay into something way more personal and exclusive. And here’s the kicker – we had our own personal butler! Yeah, you heard that right – a butler to make sure our every whim was taken care of. It had top-notch vibes all around, like in the movies you know! We felt like some pampered guests, part of an exclusive, pampered club. It’s the kind of hospitality that turns a vacation into a series of unforgettable moments.

Honestly, we never had the chance to experience any of these activities as my time there was short and my dreams of a private catamaran tour had to be tucked away for another visit…maybe sometime in the future if fate and my pocket leads me back.

In all, this resort didn’t disappoint. They had it all. Numerous golf courses spread out all around the resort. It’s like a golf village with stunning views of the ocean as your backdrop. For those who like to break a sweat, there’s a top-notch fitness center to keep you in tip-top shape. Oh, and I did find out from Ms. J that the resort did provide dance classes for couples as well. Yep, I was fortunate to see some dancing couples in training as we toured the studio.

Solaya Spa, a haven in itself, is a name that softly speaks of tranquility. Despite our time constraints preventing us from indulging in their wide range of services, the hospitality extended by the spa attendants surpassed any I’ve encountered, surpassing even my experiences at other establishments where I’ve availed their services.

From the moment we got there, we were treated with royalty. From taking our shower to changing into our beach clothes so we could go have breakfast and chill at the beach afterward till our villas were ready, it was a very worthwhile process. I felt like a princess in her father’s castle. No doubt, this was a hands-down classic touch to the overall hospitality of the resort. As an introverted extrovert, oftentimes when I travel I look forward to some time during my trip to reflect and meditate, and this resort did give me that. The lush, manicured gardens, swaying palm trees, and pristine beaches create a picture-perfect backdrop for a tropical getaway. Whether you’re lounging by the pool, strolling along the beach, or sipping cocktails at the bar, the ambiance is undeniably idyllic. Also, did I mention that there’s a delicious ice cream stand with lots of tropical flavors by the beach worth? Lol, yes there is! Relaxing by the beach with an ice cream bar right behind you never felt any better!

Also, another thing I noticed at this prestige resort was the thorough control of seaweed infestation. Unlike other resorts with seaweed problems on this tropical island, this resort had an effective seaweed solution that leaves the beach looking really clean and always very inviting to their guests. I have been to a lot of resorts before and this is one of the cleanest beaches I’ve seen in a while.

5. Room: Elegance and Comfort Combined

Let me spill the beans on our digs on getting here. Our room was a fancy villa. I mean, talk about a serious upgrade from your standard room situation. These Villas are like the VIP experience of accommodations.

Imagine this: an entirely distinct living space, a personal haven outdoors featuring a private pool, and services that seem to anticipate your every need to ensure an unparalleled stay. Think Butler-style attentiveness, a charming garden in your exclusive backyard – and here’s the kicker, you get two backyards. One boasts a delightful garden and a refreshing pool, while the other offers a stunning view of a jacuzzi surrounded by glass walls and an inviting outdoor tropical shower. Can you believe it? I found myself splitting my time between both retreats. The natural vibes here were so captivating; it felt like nature had me in a tight embrace.

Staying in this Villa felt like our own version of a home away from home, with all the extra jazz. And when I say views, I’m talking about the kind that makes you pinch yourself to make sure it’s real.

Plus, they hooked us up with our own personal golf cart. I’m not talking about your average Sunday afternoon cart stroll – this was our ticket from our fancy Villa to the heart of the resort. Zooming around like our version of a tropical adventure.
